         The Bicycle Doctor started out his repair business from a garage in Delafield, WI over thirty years ago.  From there the store moved to a strip mall in downtown Oconomowoc, WI.  Then in 2001 the Doc built his dream store in Dousman WI located along the Glacial Drumlin State bicycle trail. Riding with some of the most competitive cyclists in the area Doc realized the difference in performance from a good versus bad position on the bike. Doc has built a reputation and a following because of his enthusiasm for cycling and Nordic skiing. Over the years Doc has stuck with his passion, taking the time to educate customers on the importance of correct fit and function. His belief is only to sell bikes, skis, or other product that is a perfect fit for the customer and its intended use.

 

         Today’s shop has a warm organic feel with its high ceilings, big cedar timbers and natural light.  Just a short 30 minute drive from Milwaukee, 45 mins from Madison, and 15 mins from Waukesha.  First time visitors regularly comment on the store’s unique character. The selection is amazing. The Doc has always surrounded himself with a great staff of knowledge able cyclists which includes his wife and co-owner Barb.  There’s even a bar with a great selection of micro brews and energy drinks to refuel after one of the many organized group rides. Doc’s band occasionally entertains at the store and it always draws a big crowd of silent sports fans. So watch for a friendly wave from the Doc on the roads or ski trails and give him a wave back.
