Rental Information for Peak Nordic Families
- Kids’ seasonal rentals will become available around the 1st week of December after we outfit the middle & high school skiers.
- Is your young skier going to need classic or skate ski equipment? Classic skis have a mechanical pattern on the base of the skis to provide traction. They are sometimes referred to as “waxless” skis because they don’t require the tacky “kick” wax on the mid-section of the ski base.
- All skis need glide wax on the tips and tails. The middle school and high school teams teach kids how to do this; Our ski shop also offers classes on ski waxing.
- To provide good fitting equipment we need to know your young skiers weight “dressed to ski”. Please have them wear some sort of boots when you weigh them.
- Ski boot sizes are European and not gender specific, running from size 29 to 47. Size conversion charts are available in our shop. Kids will need to try on boots with warm socks that are mid-calf height.
- Poles are sized in centimeters every 5 cm from 85 to 170cm. Skate poles are taller and should be measured to the upper lip in height. Classic poles are shoulder height, to the head of the arm bone while wearing boots or shoes.
- Please only ski on groomed trails, never across a parking lot or driveway because it will wreck the bases.
- Season rentals are due back to the Bicycle Doctor by February 28th.
